Summary
The oceans have been quiet for nearly 10 months due to the lockdown resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, presenting a unique opportunity to quantify how fish populations are impacted by reduced human activity and expand our ability to more sustainably manage coral ecosystem health. This project will assess the impacts of COVID-19 restrictions on biodiversity using in-situ surveys at historically heavily trafficked reefs and disseminate findings globally through a live underwater broadcast and locally through public presentations and stakeholder seminars.
Darwin Initiative Round 32 is now open for applications! A new round of funding to support ambitious projects delivering impact for biodiversity and communities.
